“The courses are professionally written and comprehensive” – Ms Maura Kiely

THE CANINE BEHAVIOURIST BLOG

As a full-time dog trainer with 25 years’ experience, I have undertaken many courses with the CIDBT. I have found them to be of a higher quality of any of the other course providers in this field of study.

The courses are professionally written and comprehensive, they challenge the student to look outside their own experiences to look at other ways and means of achieving the same goals. The course instructors are incredibly supportive throughout your studies and workshops are well run and extremely well structured to make the learning experience most effective.

Courses with workshops are greatly beneficial as you come together with your peers where you can observe other ways of achieving the same goals, which in turn gives you more ways of working with individual dogs and people as we all know that people and dogs learn in different ways so enhances your “tool-box” of teaching strategies and ways of inspiring your clients, thus making you more effective and efficient.

The Dog Law was the most challenging for me, however I got an awful lot out of it. It has helped my business in ways I didn’t realise. I feel every dog trainer needs to understand dog law and how it can impact on our day-to-day relationship with clients and their dogs, our legal responsibilities as trainers whilst being compliant within the law.

The certification provides me with evidence for clients to assure them that I not only have the experience but also accreditation to back it up.

I would highly recommend CIDBT courses to anyone either already working within the dog training field or someone who is thinking of a new career in this field above any other provider.
