As an operational handler of 26 years experience he worked a total of five General Purpose Police Dogs all of which were GSD’s, in addition he ‘run on’ numerous English Springer Spaniels which went on to serve as Specialist Search Dogs with other handlers.

Of the dogs that Dave worked operationally all but one were ‘gift dogs’ to the service and as a consequence came with certain issues which required extensive work and behaviour modification to ensure they became effective and successful Police dogs.
