Phase 1 (Home Study)
This is delivered as a Home Study phase. This includes initial work based analysis and research. This also provides you with an opportunity to meet dog owners and to interview them. You are also required to conduct secondary research via the Internet, library and other sources such as books and journals on specific equipment used for the training and control of dogs.

Phase 2 (Home Study)
This phase looks at the human psychological aspects of common canine behaviour problems, the far reaching consequences and effects. Viewing real-life client cases on DVD and solving those issues. Learning to take into account, not only the dog, the owner, the circumstances, their relationships, but also equipment and the psychological ramifications of such on the owner as well as the psychology and physiology of the dog. This takes a stark look into the reality of life with dogs, far away from the text book theory.

Phase 3 (Home Study)
This phase brings together the activities of the two previous phases. Delegates will be required to relate the experiences and knowledge gained from phase 2 to their initial research, analysis, learning and experiences from phase 1, contextualising and applying the knowledge gained to their professional activities. Exploring different ideologies, and further exploring life in the real world as Canine Behaviour Practitioner.

CIDBT 5001 Advanced Common Canine Behaviour Problems

Helen McGuirl

“I was looking to change career’s and follow my passion into the dog industry.

I looked at many courses then I found CIBDT. I live up in the North East and these courses where down South. It was one of the best decisions I made and the travel just became part of an exciting journey.

I’ve lost count how many courses I took online and participant in classroom environments and practical workshops. I’ve met fellow students that have gone on to be life long friends.

Education has to be informative and reach everyone on a personal level. The environment has to be friendly, inviting and comfortable. These courses met all this criteria and more.

I’ve gone on to work with rescue’s and dog’s with behaviour struggles from traumatic backgrounds and experiences and writing behaviour modification plan’s for rehabilitation. My confidence grew by choosing these courses with CIBDT giving me the tools to choose my own path in the dog industry and giving me the opportunity to learn and enjoy at the same time.”
