Auriane Hurtes — Holistic Animal Nutritionist, MSc
Auriane Hurtes holds a BSc in Animal Science from the University of Reading and an MSc in Animal Science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, where she specialised in nutrition for canine, feline and equine health. She holds a certification in raw feeding through DNM University, the educational arm of Dogs Naturally Magazine in Canada, and has professional experience across Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada, and France.
She began her career in the commercial feed industry in Australia and the UK, developing education programmes, training internal teams, and authoring articles for industry publications. She later transitioned to independent consulting, supporting a veterinary clinic and a fresh food startup in Canada, and delivering diet‑focused training for veterinarians and other animal‑health professionals in France. Her time at a veterinary practice in Dublin offered valuable insight into the differences between traditional and holistic veterinary approaches, as well as the gaps in diet‑related education within conventional practice.
Through Inner Wild, Auriane works with dog owners to implement species‑appropriate feeding strategies that target the root causes of health issues rather than simply managing symptoms. Her client work includes both preventative support and therapeutic diet planning- often in collaboration with veterinarians- for dogs with conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney disease, and skin sensitivities. She is a member of the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society (RFVS), Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE), and the Canine Wellness Collective- organisations dedicated to ethical approaches to animal health and welfare. Auriane’s work is grounded in the belief that optimal well-being begins with species‑appropriate nourishment and respect for natural behaviours.
As a CIDBT tutor, Auriane brings her expertise in canine nutrition to help trainers and canine professionals understand how it influences behaviour and overall mental and physical well‑being.
