Advanced Dog Ownership Initiative (ADOi)
Examiner Workshop
Interested in Becoming an Advanced Dog Ownership Initiative (ADOi) Examiner?
CIDBT is the official training provider for ADOi. To learn more about the initiative, visit: www.adoi.org.uk
This examiner workshop is designed to guide you through the scheme, including the assessment process, scoring system, and the core ethos behind the initiative. You’ll also gain practical, grounded knowledge of assessment and delivery.
What makes ADOi unique is its focus on three key areas within the practical examination:
- Obedience and control
- Behaviour in real-life situations
- Social compatibility
The scheme is inclusive, welcoming dogs with behavioural challenges as well as breeds currently exempted under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 which makes maintaining consistent standards essential.
All examiners are trained to work to the same criteria, supporting the initiative’s goals: improving public safety, enhancing canine welfare, and empowering owners to raise dogs that are well-managed, socially compatible, and resilient in real-world environments. This is a detailed assessment process with feedback and conversations required and not a tick box scheme.
We cover how to deliver information to clients and how to improve their onward journey with their dog being the advocate that their dog needs and how to continue to promote advanced dog ownership.
This one day workshop opens up not only the ability to work as an examiner and to deliver the scheme throughout your training courses but to create a wave of difference to dog ownership.
Held at the Royal Kennel Club in Warwickshire
The cost for the workshop is £595
